ARRIVAL INFORMATION

After collecting your luggage, please proceed to the car rental area where you will find the MÁS Rent A Car booth, one of our agents will arrange the shuttle to pick you up and drive you to our main office to collect your vehicle. Shuttles are blue with the MÁS Rent a Car and Mex Rent A Car logo. You can also call +52 (33) 4624 2114 for additional pick up instructions.

RULES

All customers should present the following documents in order to proceed with the rental:

  • Valid official ID (INE or Passport).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Credit Card.
  • Arrival plane ticket and departure flight confirmation (If applicable. Please check the “NO DEPOSIT” section).

The same credit card or the same cardholder cannot be used to rent two or more vehicles within the same timeframe. 

Accepted method for deposits: Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, Diners Club, Discovery and American Express). 

Passport or INE must be valid during the period of the rental agreement. In the case of INE, it must appear in the electoral roll.

GRACE PERIOD

Reservations will be honored for a period of 6 hours after the confirmed pick up date and time. After this period, we cannot guarantee the reserved vehicle, but you can be sure we will do everything in our power to provide you with a vehicle.

ADDITIONAL DRIVER

Your MÁS Rent a Car rate already has additional drivers included. Additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the main driver. This applies to the MÁS Essential and MÁS Total rates.

AGE

The minimum age to rent a car is 18 years old and there is no charge related to a minimum age to rent a car. This applies to the MÁS Essential and MÁS Total rates.

DEPOSIT

Required deposit depends on the coverage or protection selected, as well as the type of credit card, and booking channel as explained below.

For all reservation made through www.masrentacar.com, social media, call center or any of our direct reservation channels, the following deposits will apply:

  • MÁS Essential - RLP + CDW (Rental Liability Protection + Collision Damage Waiver): 

An additional authorization of $10,000.00 MXN will be required  for cars, SUVs and VANs. For special vehicle categories such as Premium SUV (Chevrolet Suburban or Similar) and Allterrain SUV 4x4 (Jeep Wrangler 4x4 or Similar, GWM Tank 300 or Similar) it is required to grant an authorization of $50,000.00 MXN.

  • MÁS Total - CT (Total Coverage):  You can check the costs of the coverage in the section "INSURANCE AND WAIVER OPTIONS".

An additional authorization of $1,500.00 MXN will be required  for cars, SUV’s and VAN’s. For special vehicle categories such as Premium SUV (Chevrolet Suburban or Similar) and Allterrain SUV 4x4 (Jeep Wrangler 4x4 or Similar, GWM Tank 300 or Similar) it is required to grant an authorization of $5,000.00 MXN.

Reservations that includes RLP (Third Party Liability):

An additional authorization of $50,000.00 MXN will be required  for cars, SUV’s and VAN’s. For special vehicle categories such as Premium SUV (Chevrolet Suburban or Similar) and Allterrain SUV 4x4 (Jeep Wrangler 4x4 or Similar, GWM Tank 300 or Similar) it is required to grant an authorization of $100,000.00 MXN.

Reservations that includes RLP + CDW (Rental Liability Protection + Collision Damage Waiver): 

An additional authorization of $25,000.00 MXN will be required  for cars, SUV’s and VAN’s. For special vehicle categories such as Premium SUV (Chevrolet Suburban or Similar) and Allterrain SUV 4x4 (Jeep Wrangler 4x4 or Similar, GWM Tank 300 or Similar) it is required to grant an authorization of $50,000.00 MXN.

Reservations that includes CT / LDW / CTI (Total coverage 0% deductible):

An additional authorization of $1,500.00 MXN will be required  for cars, SUV’s and VAN’s. For special vehicle categories such as Premium SUV (Chevrolet Suburban or Similar) and Allterrain SUV 4x4 (Jeep Wrangler 4x4 or Similar, GWM Tank 300 or Similar) it is required to grant an authorization of $5,000.00 MXN.

Accepted method for deposit at the counter: Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club,). 

NO DEPOSIT OPTION

You may omit the deposit by presenting your arrival flight ticket and departure flight confirmation, as long as you comply with the basic rental requirements and the security filters.

Applicable in: Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel, La Paz, Loreto, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta.

*Does not apply in the following vehicle categories: Premium SUV (Chevrolet Suburban or similar), SUV All Terrain (Jeep wrangler or similar), Large Van (Toyota Hiace or similar), Intermediate SUV (Kia Sportage or similar), Standard SUV (Nissan X-trail or similar), Fullsize SUV (Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar), Fullsize Hybrid SUV  (GWM Tank 300 or similar).

Applicable only for MÁS Total reservations or including Full Coverage (CT).

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

Children under the age of 4 are required to travel in Child Seats. There is a charge of $7,23 USD per day taxes included for each child seat. If the seat is not returned in the same condition, less normal wear and tear as received, a cleaning fee will be assessed. If the seat is damaged a repair or replacement charge will apply. (Subject to availability).

Hotspot units are available for $14,46 USD per day, taxes included. This device provides internet access. Please ask for details at time of rental. Only available in Tijuana, Mexico.

FUEL

All vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel that was delivered at the beginning of the rental period to avoid refueling charges. Ask our agents about the prepaid fuel option.

If you choose the prepaid fuel option at the counter, you will receive a full tank  and you will be able to return it at any other level. There are no partial refunds for unused fuel. The cost per liter of fuel may vary depending on the fluctuation of the price of fuel and the office.

ONE-WAY RENTALS

One-way rentals are available, a drop-off charge may apply and the price depends on the distance between the location of origin and the location of drop off. Vehicles with pick up in Mexico cannot have a drop off in the United States and vice versa. Please ask our agents for further information.

GEOGRAPHIC

In case of crossing the border with the United States, an additional charge will be applied. For more information about our protections in the United States (USI), please ask our agents upon arrival. Option valid only for rentals originating in Mexico. 

Crossing the border with Guatemala and Belize is not allowed.

No vehicle may be transported by sea (ferry, boat, etc.).

MILEAGE

The mileage is unlimited as long as it is booked on our website.

DRIVERS LICENSE

All drivers must present a valid drivers license during pick up. In the case of presenting a virtual driver's license, it must be presented in the corresponding application of the state or entity that issues it.

The license must be in Roman alphabet. In case you do not have a license in Roman alphabet, you must present a valid international driver's license during the rental period. 

NO SMOKING

Please do not smoke inside the vehicle. If any smoke is detected, a cleaning fee will apply. Likewise, in case of presenting a burn by cigarette or any other fire instrument, a damage or burn charge will be applied.

PAYMENTS

Accepted methods of payment: Debit or Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover and JCB).

Accepted methods of deposit: Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover and JCB).

Cash or vouchers of any kind are not accepted.

PREPAID RESERVATIONS

MÁS Rent A Car reserves the right not to deliver the vehicle if it considers that the driver is not able to drive or if the driver does not comply with the rules described on these terms, even if the booking has been prepaid. Therefore, it is very important that you familiarize the terms and the documents that need to be presented at pick up. For more information, please contact us at +52 (33) 4624 2114.

INSURANCE AND WAIVER OPTIONS

MÁS Rent A Car includes the following coverage in all its rates displayed on the website www.masrentacar.com for destinations within Mexico:

  • MÁS Essential - (RLP+CDW) Rental Liability Protection / Collision Damage Waiver: Protects you against claims for injury/damage you cause to third persons/their property up to $750,000.00 MXN. Limits the responsibility of the customer over the rented vehicle to a deductible of 10% of the invoice value of the vehicle in case of accident or total loss, and 20% deductible over the invoice value of the vehicle in case of total theft. Additional drivers are included. Partial theft, vandalism or damage to parts and accessories, as well as damage in tires and windshield are NOT covered. Partial or total damages caused by meteorological events such as earthquakes, hurricanes or floods are NOT covered. There are no charges related to minimum or maximum age to drive.
  • MÁS Total - CT - CT2 - CT3 - CT4 (Full coverage): Limits the responsibility of the customer over the rented vehicle to a deductible of 0% of the car value, in case of accident or theft. Accident protection for tires and windshield is included. Theft, vandalism or damage to parts and accessories are NOT covered. You will have access to legal assistance if it's necessary. This coverage extends the coverage of legal liability up to a maximum of $3’000,000.00 MXN. The liability insurance limits the responsibility of the customer over damages it may cause to third parties or properties only. Also, you will be covered for medical expenses in case of accident in the rented vehicle up to $40,000.00 MXN per occupant or up to the total number of passengers according to the characteristics of the automobile. Also, we will waive all, or a portion of, the cost of a roadside assistance service up to the amount of $5,000.00 MXN per incident. Benefits include emergency road service towing, winching, jump start, flat tire change, lockout service, and emergency fuel delivery. Additional drivers are included. Some restrictions may apply, please ask for a copy of our RSA brochure at the rental counter. Partial or total damages caused by meteorological events such as earthquakes, hurricanes or floods are NOT covered. There are no charges related to minimum or maximum age to drive.

If you choose the MÁS Essential option, you will be able to select one of the following additional coverages at time of rental. All the following coverages are optional:

CT – CT2 – CT3 – CT4 (Total Coverage): Limits the responsibility of the customer over the rented vehicle to a deductible of 0% of the car value, in case of accident or theft. Accident protection for tires and windshield is included. Theft, vandalism or damage to parts and accessories are NOT covered. You will have access to legal assistance if it's necessary. This coverage extends the coverage of legal liability up to a maximum of $3’000,000.00 MXN. The liability insurance limits the responsibility of the customer over damages it may cause to third parties or properties only. Also, you will be covered for medical expenses in case of accident in the rented vehicle up to $40,000.00 MXN per occupant or up to the total number of passengers according to the characteristics of the automobile.   • CT: Vehicles that apply for this option are Mini, Economy. CT is $37,39 USD per day, taxes included.
  • CT2: Vehicles that apply for this option are Compact, Intermediate, Standard, Full Size, Hybrid, Mini SUV and Compact SUV. CT2 is $39,80 USD per day, taxes included.
  • CT3: Vehicles that apply for this option are Premium, Luxury, Compact Convertible, PickUp, Intermediate SUV, Standard SUV, Full Size SUV, Mini Van, Intermediate Van. CT3 is $44,62 USD per day, taxes included.
  • CT4: Vehicles that apply for this option are Premium SUV, Fullsize Van, All Terrain, Sport, Sport Convertible. CT4 is $48,24 USD per day, taxes included.

LCA (Tires and Windshield Coverage): LCA includes Tires and Windshield Coverage. Some restrictions may apply, please ask for a copy of our RSA brochure at the rental counter. Partial or total damages caused by meteorological events such as earthquakes, hurricanes or floods are NOT covered. The cost of the LCA options will depend on the rented vehicle category as explained below:

  • LCA: Vehicles that apply for this option are Mini, Economy. LCA is $10,85 USD per day, taxes included.
  • LCA2: Vehicles that apply for this option are Compact, Intermediate, Standard, Full Size, Hybrid, Mini SUV and Compact SUV. LCA2 is $13,26 USD per day, taxes included.
  • LCA3: Vehicles that apply for this option are Premium, Luxury, Compact Convertible, PickUp, Intermediate SUV, Standard SUV, Full Size SUV, Mini Van, Intermediate Van. LCA3 is $15,67 USD per day, taxes included.
  • LCA4: Vehicles that apply for this option are Premium SUV, Fullsize Van, All Terrain, Sport, Sport Convertible. LCA4 is $18,08 USD per day, taxes included.

USI (United States Insurance): It covers damage to third parties up to $50,000.00 USD (liability) and $10,000.00 USD (medical expenses) divided by the number of occupants. USI is $9,64 USD per day, taxes included.

INSURANCE AND WAIVER OPTIONS FOR RESERVATIONS MADE THROUGH THIRD PARTIES.

All reservations with destination in Mexico, regardless of the means through which they were made, already include the RLP protection (Third Party Liability Protection) required to travel in the country.

If your reservation was made through a third party, we recommend that you verify the applicability of the insurance included in your reservation. The following protections will be available for reservations made for any office in Mexico through third parties as of December 5, 2022, and already include the partial protection of 10% deductible (RLP + CDW):

CTI – CTI2 – CTI3 – CTI4 (Total Coverage): Limits the responsibility of the customer over the rented vehicle to a deductible of 0% of the car value, in case of accident or theft. Accident protection for tires and windshield is included. Theft, vandalism or damage to parts and accessories are NOT covered. You will have access to legal assistance if it's necessary. This coverage extends the coverage of legal liability up to a maximum of $3’000,000.00 MXN.   • CTI: Vehicles that apply for this option are Mini, Economy. CT is $38,59 USD per day, taxes included.
  • CTI2: Vehicles that apply for this option are Compact, Intermediate, Standard, Full Size, Hybrid, Mini SUV and Compact SUV. CT2 is $43,42 USD per day, taxes included.
  • CTI3: Vehicles that apply for this option are Premium, Luxury, Compact Convertible, PickUp, Intermediate SUV, Standard SUV, Full Size SUV, Mini Van, Intermediate Van. CT3 is $47,04 USD per day, taxes included.
  • CTI4: Vehicles that apply for this option are Premium SUV, Fullsize Van, All Terrain, Sport, Sport Convertible. CT4 is $50,66 USD  per day, taxes included.

If your reservation was made through a third party for any office in Mexico and only has RLP (Basic Third Party Damage Protection), the protections available at the counter will be the following:

  • LDW: This protection applies to Mini and Economic categories.  LDW has a cost of $45,83 USD per day, taxes included.
  • LDW2: This protection applies to Compact, Intermediate, Standard, Large, Hybrid, Mini SUV and Compact SUV. LDW2 has a cost of $49,45 USD per day, taxes included.
  • LDW3: This protection applies to Premium, Luxury, Compact Convertible, PickUp, Intermediate SUV, Standard SUV, Large SUV, Minivan, Intermediate Van. LDW3 has a cost of $55,48 USD per day, taxes included.
  • LDW4: This protection applies to Premium SUV, Large Van, Off-Road, Sport, Sport Convertible. LDW4 has a cost of $61,51 USD per day, taxes included.

USI2 (United States Insurance): It covers damage to third parties up to $50,000.00 USD (liability) and $10,000.00 USD (medical expenses) divided by the number of occupants. USI2 is $18,10 USD per day, taxes included.        

In case of doubts regarding the insurance included in your reservation, we recommend you contact our 24/7 Contact Center at +52 (33) 4624 2114 or customer.care@mexrentacar.com, our agents are trained to provide you with this information.

Early/Late Return: Your confirmed rental rate applies only to the exact reservation period booked. Returning the vehicle early or keeping the vehicle past the confirmed return date subjects you to an additional charge:

  • Early Return: A one-time charge of $30,16 USD taxes included will apply.
  • Later Return: A one-time charge of $36,19 USD taxes included will apply, additional to the rent rate for each extended day.

Multiple or Duplicate Reservations: If you require multiple vehicles for the same or overlapping time periods, please make sure to use a different name for each reservation, otherwise the duplicate name reservations will be automatically canceled. MÁS Rent A Car will not be responsible for such cancellations.

ONLINE BOOKINGS

Rates that are impacted by a website technical issue, database issue or other means will not be honored by the location if the rate display was inaccurate due to a technical issue or tampering issue to change the rate display.

EXCHANGE RATE

Due fluctuations on the currency exchange rate, have in mind that the total charged on your credit card might differ from the total displayed on our website. The difference (if any) will depend on the currency exchange rate between the moment when the booking was made and the moment when the charge is reflected on your credit card statement. In the event we have to refund any amount to your account, we will refund the exact same amount charged originally and we will not be responsible for any currency fluctuation that may occur and that results in a higher or lower refund than the one expected.

All charges will be applied in Mexican pesos with the exchange rate stipulated on your rental agreement at the counter. Any other variation reflected on your credit card will correspond to the difference between your bank exchange rate and ours.

CANCELLATIONS

If your reservation was confirmed through the website www.masrentacar.com or through our Reservation Center at +52 (33) 4624 2114, please use the same channel to cancel it. If your reservation was confirmed through a third party site (broker, online travel agency, etc.) please use the same channel to request your cancellation. Some third party sites have cancellation fees if the reservation is not canceled within a certain period of time prior to your rental. MÁS Rent A Car is not responsible for such cancellation fees.

No FLEX insurance

If your reservation is canceled 5 days before the pick-up date and time, you will receive a full refund of your reservation. In case of cancellation less than 5 days before the date and time of your reservation, a 20% penalty will be applied on the total value of your reservation, receiving a partial refund of 80% of the total value of the reservation.

If you need to make date changes to your reservation, please contact atencion@mexrentacar.com. In case this change represents an increase in the rate, this payment can be made over the counter. No refund can be made in case of a lower rate. Once a date change is made, the cancellation policy will apply with a penalty of 25% of the total value of your reservation, receiving a partial refund of 75% of the total value of your reservation.

With FLEX insurance

If you have contracted the FLEX insurance you can request your cancellation with full refund up to 24 hours before the date and time of your reservation. The value of the FLEX insurance will not be refunded. In case you request your cancellation less than 24 hours before your pick-up date, we will be able to make a partial refund of the reservation, applying a penalty of 20% of the total value of the reservation. In case of not being able to complete your reservation on the agreed date and day, we recommend you to contact atencion@mexrentacar.com to reschedule your reservation.

You will be able to make changes to your reservation before the pick-up date marked on your reservation. If your change represents a fare increase, you will be able to make this payment over the counter. No refund can be made in the event of a lower rate.

FLEX insurance is non-refundable.

In case of requesting a refund due to cancellation with FLEX insurance, we will confirm that this was requested with 24 hours of anticipation to the date and time of pick up, and after confirming this information the refund of the rental rate will be applied. The time it takes to be reflected on your bank statement will depend on your own bank branch, it usually takes up to 15 business days.

In the same way, you will be able to modify your rental dates up to 24 hours before your rental time and date. If there is a rate difference, you will need to cover this payment.

ONLINE PAYMENT KUESKI PAY

Available payment terms: 1,2,4 or up to 6 fortnights.

Minimum purchase amount: $ 500 mxn

Maximum purchase amount: $ 12,000 mxn

When you make your reservation payment online at www.masrentacar.com and choose the payment option through Kueski Pay, you will be redirected to this site to continue with the transaction. To make this payment through Kueski Pay, you acknowledge that you are subject to the terms and conditions of such payment platform, as well as you must provide the information requested to continue with the process, this may include information such as method of identification, phone number or any other personal information required to continue with the transaction. MÁS Rent a Car is not obligated and will not be responsible for any dispute or follow-up that may arise or result from the transaction between you and the Kueski Pay platform. However we are committed to make the best effort to support you in case it is necessary to solve any inconvenience, you can contact us by email at customer.care@mexrentacar.com

ARCO RIGHTS

You have the right to know what personal information we have about you, what we use it for and the conditions of the use we make of it (access). Likewise, it is your right to request the correction of personal information in case it is outdated, inaccurate or incomplete (rectification); that we remove it from our records or database when you consider that it is not being used properly (cancellation); as well as to oppose the use of your personal data for specific purposes (opposition). These rights are known as ARCO rights; however, it is important that you keep in mind that not in all cases we will be able to conclude your request in the desired sense, since it is possible that due to some legal obligation we require to continue processing your personal data; also, you should consider that, for certain purposes, the revocation of your consent will imply that we cannot continue providing the service you requested, or the conclusion of your relationship with Turismo Gargo.

To exercise your ARCO rights, you can access the procedure that we have implemented, i.e., simply contact the personal data security area at the link https://mexrentacar.com/en/contact or by e-mail customer.care@mexrentacar.com , by writing a document in Spanish, including full name, a simple copy of your official identification or, in electronic media, a digitized version of the same (scan), indication of the e-mail or physical address you designate for notifications and a contact telephone number. Once this has been done, you will be informed within a maximum of 20 working days as to whether the request has been granted; in the event that a response letter is sent to the physical address indicated, the twenty days will be deemed to have elapsed upon delivery of the document to the postal service.
