Amazing places you must visit in Tijuana
Tijuana is known for being one of the busiest borders in the world. Located in northern Mexico and bordering the United States, it is a vibrant and multifaceted city. Here are some activities and places to visit on your next trip to Tijuana. MÁS Rent a Car is present at the Tijuana International Airport; book a car and get to know the best of this city and its surroundings.
Tijuana
A vibrant city with a great art and culture scene. And this is reflected in its galleries and also in the urban art that reflects the daily life in the border walls. We recommend visiting the Tijuana Cultural Center, which is known for its spherical shape. Here you will find art exhibitions, film screenings, workshops, courses and more.
Tijuana's gastronomy is something you should definitely try. Besides being the birthplace of the original Caesar salad, the gastronomy in Tijuana reflects a mixture of Mexican cuisine with others such as Mediterranean, French, Italian and American. Also, it incorporates the variety of fish and seafood of the region. From hot and cold cuisine, to tacos, broths, meat, and even seafood, you will find a wide variety of food for all tastes.
San Diego
Just an hour from Tijuana (across the border) is San Diego, California. It is a city that, due to its proximity to Mexico, also reflects a mix of different cultures and nationalities that enrich the cuisine and activities you can do during your visit. One of the best known neighborhoods is Little Italy, a street where Italian food is the star, but you will also find bars and restaurants of all kinds. The city also celebrates some festivities, in which this street is closed to become completely pedestrian.
On the other hand, San Diego is known for being a place for outdoor activities, since the weather allows it. You can look for activities such as concerts in Balboa Park, an artistic space that is surrounded by 17 different museums to visit, the famous botanical building and the San Diego Zoo, dedicated to the conservation and study of many animals and species. This city also has many trails ideal for hiking and walking.
If you visit San Diego during the months of December through April, don't miss whale, orca and dolphin watching. You can take a guided tour to learn more about these incredible marine mammals. Always remember to respect the ecosystem and the space you visit.
Rosarito
Rosarito is located near Tijuana. After a 30-minute drive from the border city, you will arrive at this beach destination, ideal for spending the day with friends or family. Activities such as surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, boat rides, beach volleyball or just sunbathing are some of the things you can do in Rosarito.
Coronado Island is ideal for an afternoon of boating, diving or snorkeling and getting to know the marine fauna and flora of this area. We recommend you to go with a guide, since this island is considered a protected area. This way you will be able to know which places are allowed to access the sea.
Puerto Nuevo
Known as the lobster capital of Baja California, Puerto Nuevo is a town located just 48 minutes by car from Tijuana, in the strip known as Costa Dorada. It is a quiet town where you can surf or go to eat lobster Puerto Nuevo style: grilled and accompanied by freshly made flour tortillas. It is worth enjoying the sunset on the boardwalk and enjoying the view that the golden waves offer when they crash on the coast.
Ensenada
From Puerto Nuevo, you can continue your trip for about an hour by car until you reach the Guadalupe Valley in Ensenada. The Guadalupe Valley area is where most of Mexico's wine is produced. Don't miss the experience of touring the main wineries in the region. We also recommend enjoying an afternoon of food and wine pairing with food specially prepared by local chefs. There are many lodging options available to spend the night and enjoy the best views of the Guadalupe Valley.
In Ensenada you can also visit places like La Bufadora, considered the second largest marine geyser in the world. Here the air from the waves enters a sea cave and, after being trapped, comes out under pressure forming a spectacle of water jets that reach 30 meters in height. On the way to La Bufadora, the Baja California coastal road will dazzle you with its incredible views of cliffs and beaches.
Tijuana's surroundings are perfect for your next trip. Rent a car at Tijuana International Airport and book at masrentacar.com with the all-inclusive package MÁS Total. So you don't have to worry about anything, remember that your rate already includes free additional drivers and 24/7 contact center.
